The only issue (to me) is the keyboard ribbon inserts into a very flimsy plastic clamp on the motherboard-I broke one of the retention teeth on it, but my keyboard is fine. Other than that, it's just removing the chassis screws, then the various motherboard screws, and popping in/out the wifi card. I'm happy to report that the problem is fixed! I ordered the card per the recs on the OP. I couldn't figure out how to crack the laptop without actually screwing something up so I found a repair guy on Angies List and he did the swap for a whopping $10!

So the card was about $25 then the install about $10, and after playing numerous hours of D2 and watching several shows/movies (streaming netflix and such) for about a week, I have had no dropped wireless signals or bluescreens or anything. The problem is gone! So I'm here to tell you to quit messing around with all the other fixes, this is it! Switch out the wifi card and your problems will likely resolve.
